Isle of Sunshine, one of Denise’s favorite designs, is available as a kit that includes Hebner Farmette Cashmere Fingering in two colors. Hildegarde is the main color and Dutchella is used for all contrast colors in the pattern. The pillowy 100% cashmere from the downy undercoat of Hildegarde, Dutchess and Adrdella was colored by mother nature without the help of dyes to produce these lovely colors.

Hildegarde, Dutchess and Ardella grow a double fleece to protect and insulate them during the cold New England winters. Come mid-March, they shed the downy coat, which is hand-combed, a process that can take up to three weeks. Their beautiful fiber is spun into luxurious yarn by Still River Fiber Mill of Connecticut. You will find the yarn will bloom and leave an angelic halo that gets fuller over time.

The luxurious kits are available in limited quantities. With a small herd of four cashmere goats and the time required to get into the queue at Still River to yield beautiful fiber that is pillowy, downy and oh so desirable, we are only able to offer a handful of kits.
